11+ Gloucestershire
There are seven grammar schools in Glos, all seven schools use the same 11 plus exam meaning your child will only have to sit one exam even if they are applying to more than one grammar school. The Gloucestershire Schools' Entrance Test is provided by GL Assessment and tests verbal, non-verbal and maths skills. There are two test papers, each lasting 45-50 minutes (organised into two sittings, morning and early afternoon on the same day). Additional time is provided for instructions and worked examples meaning each session will last about 1 hour. All questions are multiple choice.
Please note: From September 2028 entry the Gloucestershire consortium will be switching to a new exam provider, Future Stories Community Enterprise (FSCE), and the test date will move to the summer term of Year 5. The 2027 entry test (September 2026) will remain with GL Assessment on the current September timetable.
